Come join with Lori Myrick and explore a more meditative slow-paced style of yoga where the poses are held for 3-5 minutes. These longer held passive poses target the deep connective tissues, tendons, ligaments and fascia throughout the body with the aim of increasing circulation in the joints and improving flexibility.
The benefits of practicing Yin Yoga include increased range of motion for the muscles, regaining space and strength in the joints, moving the energy in our body, increasing the health of our organs, as well as quieting our minds.
Props and modifications will be used to create a more restorative support, allowing for muscles to fully relax.
We will finish the practice with a short Yoga Nidra meditation during shavasana.
Suggested items to bring: an extra blanket and pillow, a bottle of water, an open mind and heart.
